First Communion

First Communion is offered in fifth grade for those who wish to receive the Sacrament. Instruction is offered in the Spring with a child's First Communion being received on Holy Thursday, the day Jesus instituted this meal.

Confirmation Program

St. Mark's confirmation classes center their curriculum around Luther’s Small Catechism. The Confirmation program begins when a child reaches seventh grade and they are confirmed in the spring of their eighth grade year. Classes are every other week and they are held from September through May.

Requirements for confirmation include regular worship, participation in Sunday School, Youth Group, and various other aspects of the congregation’s life. Once in the confirmation process the confirmand is asked to serve as an acolyte, crucifer. As the program progresses it is hoped that the participant will continue to grow as a responsible member of the congregation.
