Emily has been leading and participating in church music for most of her life, most recently as Co-Director of Music at Advent Lutheran Church in Manhattan. She is a life-long Lutheran, and grew up in several churches on the east coast with her father as pastor. Emily holds a masters degree in music education from Teachers College, Columbia University, and a bachelor of music in piano performance from James Madison University. Emily and her husband, Sheldon, live in Mt. Airy with their dog, Leti.
At St. Mark’s, Emily leads all aspects of our diverse music programs – from Sunday Morning worship, Dinner Church, Bell Choir, Faith Formation, Adult Choir and working with our many talented musician members.
